On Monday students had a sub who started work on the summaries from our class article, "Into the Storm". On Tuesday students took a practice test to help us get ready for the assessment on Friday. It did not really go as planned, so I went back to the drawing board. We worked today on being able to identify the different types of variables from an experiment: manipulated (what you purposefully change or test), responding (what the result is or what you expect to change to show success) and controlled (all of the variables that need to be kept the same so that you know that only the manipulated variable caused the change in data). We talked through several examples from a packet, which we will finish tomorrow during class. We spent the last 10 minutes running through example experiments so that we could analyze if the student had conducted a fair test, what evidence we used to make our decisions and what improvements we could make (even if it was a fair test). FAIR TEST ASSESSMENT ON FRIDAY
