It sure feels good to be back to a normal day (even if the periods are mixed up). We reviewed the lesson on estimating sums and differences with fractions and took notes on a couple of strategies for determining if the fraction is more or less than half. We then went into a lesson (pages 678-682 in the book) on adding mixed numbers. Students did really well with this, but needed reminders at times to make sure fractions had common denominators and to reduce if they could.
Homework: page 681-682 **many students did not turn in Face Math today so this is homework for those students (you can check powerschool to see if it was turned in)
