Today in LA most students were able to finish their "Scout's Honor" summary and begin working on the next story- students are given 1 of 3 stories based on their reading level and will read and write a summary independently. I gave each kid today the rubric that I will be using to score their summaries- we spent time going over the rubric and explaining the difference between a 2, a 3, and a 4.
In Social Studies we finished up reading and discussing New Netherlands. The Arbour class wasn't able to finish their notes today, so I will post the notes tomorrow after they have the opportunity to answer our essential questions. Homework: IXL AA1-5 Sentences, Run-Ons, Fragments, Types, and subject/predicate...students should make a "cheat sheet" to help them using the explanation pages- particularly for types of sentences.
